I feel greatly saddened by the death of Freddy Fender. He was one of my all time favorite musicians. Wasted Days and Wasted Nights was the first song I ever learned. I was around 3 years old and remember singing that song when my Dad would take me to the local truck stop. Which was the only restaurant in town. Every time I hear his music I think about my Dad. My father and I got to see Freddy perform in Mississippi a few years ago. I noticed a bill board that said he was performing that weekend. I called my Dad & he drove in from Tampa, Florida and I drove in from New Orleans, Louisiana. I danced with my Dad and it will always be one of my favorite memories. God bless the family!!
