My condolences to Freddy Fender's Family. I am a native of San Benito, as was Freddy. My mother went to grade school with him. As you might guess, he was always a part of our family when it came to music. He will always be remembered.

I grew up in a small town, where the little cantinas played your music loud. I can remember the looks on all the ladies and men as they danced, how much they really were into your song and how it made them think of the good times and forget their troubles. You are a part of our hearts and will be missed thank you for the times!!

My parents always played the Texas Tornadoes. I still have the cassette! Everytime I hear those songs or Freddy's voice I am always transported back in time to Sunday afternoons when I was little with my dad grilling and me dancing around the living room. I am only 25 but those memories will always be with me. Thank You.

Our deepest sympathy to Freddy's Family, I remember hearing my grandma playing his music when I was small and would bring me joy as an adult every time I heard his songs. I am thankful he continued to share his blessing of a voice with all of us. May he rest in peace with our heavenly Father.

Though Freddi has left to sing up in Heaven, his voice and music will live on - he will always be remembered and and his songs will go on playing here on earth till eternity. His greatest hits "Wasted Days & Wasted Nights" and "Before the next teardrop falls" never left my collection of music on vinyl, cassettes and CDs, for the last 35 years. As a DJ, I carried them with me wherever I went. I have not missed a single occasion without playing them. I hail originally from Goa, India, where his two greatest hits have been playing for over 40 years in many homes. People of Goa know his music and they love it. Goans love Western music -they sing, write music and play many western musical instruments, from the oboe to the violin.
Condolences to the family members
