I went to visit Freddy's Hollywood Star after attending the Sunday Mass today just to find NOT A SINGLE FLOWER on it. I picked 3 flowers from the garden of a nearby hotel and placed it there. I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Fender's passing today. My dad and uncle passed away from lung cancer and I understand the pain and loss of someone loved. I will keep Mr. Fender and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

Here's hoping Freddy's desire to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame will soon be a reality. There is none so deserving as he. My heart goes out to his family, may God comfort you all in this time of sorrow.

I really believed, and even prayed as did countless others. Can any man change the will of God? There are some questions that can never be answered and some answers that can not be questioned.

My mother Linda passed away when I was 18 months old, thirty years ago. When I got older I received her guitar,some pictures and her Freddy Fender's tape. Needless to say, I know all the words and have enjoyed it many millions of times. Freddy, say hi to my Mother for me? She was a great fan.

It was a sad day for me when I heard that Freddy Fender (Birth Name: Baldemar Huerta) passed away. My condolences to Freddy's/Baldermar's family and friends for their loss, for I know what they are going through, for my sister Tammy passed away at age 41 on September 23 from lingering intestinal troubles.

Freddy, you helped open many roads to many entertainers of Tejano and Latino descent.

Freddy, to quote two of your songs, there were never any "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" when you on TV, recording, and on stage, although I never saw you in person. I hope to see you in heaven along with my sister Tammy and others like Elvis Presley, Buck Owens, and Conway Twitty.

Finally, the words of your song "When You Lose Me, Oh Yes, You Lose A Good Thing" are really ringing true now because you will now be performing in the heavenly choir, which by the way will be sounding a lot sweeter.

When they have the funeral services, they will praise both Baldemar Huerta, the man, and Freddy Fender, the legend. The funeral may be for Baldemar Huerta, but the legacy and legend of Freddy Fender will never die. God Bless You.

It is truly a sad day. Freddy Fender is gone. I grew up listening to freddy's music as a kid, in the back of my dad's 1978 Chevrolet Malibu. Man, I remember "Before the Next tear drop falls". As well as all the other Great Country songs of that era. it was a magical time. I was only a little boy at the time, But I do remember. Rest in God's Holy Peace, Freddy. and Save me a space around the Throne.
