To the family of Freddy Fender:
I had the pleasure of knowing Freddy as he was my Boss, Joe Navarro's best friend! Who left us long before Freddy did, It make's me happy to think they are together in heaven.
He spend most New year's with us. At Country Joe's, and we knew all his song's! He was loved and adored by all. He is deeply missed! My friend's and I still talk about those days, and the fun we shared. He was kind to all who met him, and his smile warmed your soul!
I know it has been a few years sents, he passed but it seems as only yesterday.
With much love to his Family,
Coleen

Thanks for having a tribute for Freddy. We will miss you Freddy. I cried when I heard you past away. I get emotional every time I hear your beautiful song "Before the Next Teardrop Falls". You sang right from your heart. Rest In Peace, God Bless you and your family. We will never forget you, Freddy.

Just came across this website searching for a tune that I first heard Mr Fender singing years ago ( Tell it like it is).
How wonderful to be able to pass on our thanks for the music pleasure this true star gave us all.
The true measure of a star is never really known until after the loss of them. I think MR F will live on in spirit long after the so called transient music performers are forgotten.
My thoughts and best wishes to all his family. This man gave pleasure to many millions and through his music will continue to do so for as long as we listen to music,, probably forever !!
A big hello to all FF fans. Keep on enjoying the legacy.

One of the things I most desired as a young adult, many years ago, was to attend a Freddy Fender concert, when he came to Northern CA. He appeared at the Lloyd Hickeys Hall in West Sacramento many years ago, and a large group of family members bought tickets, and I was the official babysitter. Never made the concert.
I guess I never will.

As a little girl living in Texas I remember my mom playing Freddy's music . I remember dancing and singing along with his songs , those where such happy care free days . After moving to Minnesota ,I longed for Texas comfort and every time I'd listen to Freddy that's just what it would bring be . Now that I'm 29 and have kids and still living in Minnesota . I play Freddy's music for my kids,so they too know what Texas comfort sounds and feels like.
Thank You for such great music and memories.

To the family of Freddy Fender:
I had the pleasure of seeing Freddy in concert in Petaluma, California around 1999-2000. I'm from the Valley....born in San Benito myself...my mom was also from San Benito and she would always tell me about Freddy and his family. I attended his dedication of the water tower in San Benito as well as his funeral with my mom. My mom has since passed away too, and I will always remember her and Freddy's music as well.

A friends Funeral service was yesterday. He was a faithful Freddy Fender Fan. The song played at the end of the service was;
"ON A SWEET SUMMERS DAY"
If anyone has not heard this song with Freddy singing it, you should try to find it. Its too beautiful for words.
