One of my most requested songs "Before The Next Teardrop Falls" and I have been doing it since 1974 in my shows. I lived near San Benito, Texas when very young. I was born just South of there in Olmito, Texas in 1948. I also went North to Oregon to be a migrant worker. He will never be forgotten.

Stupid, unread, uninformed me. My apologies being out of the Country so long, I had no idea that Freddie had passed. What a sad sad thing. My really heartfelt apologies and big love.

Posted in our Community Center, there is a small sign reading 'Texas Tornadoes' June 2nd 2008. Now, (being an Okie transplanted in England) I'm wondering will that be ya'll? (Freddie Fender) and all? If so, color me there. I grew up dancing with my daddy to 'Freddie' and I'd like nothing better to give him a big ol' Oklahoma hug.
Big love to everyone in the band. Hope to see you....If it is...ya'll...

Thanks for this web sight. I was always very fond of Freddies music as I have all of his albums. I heard him on satelite radio as I was driving to work this morning and couldn't resist looking him up. I would like to visit his museum someday, maybe when the new building is built. Thanks again.

I remember my mother getting to see him in concert in the late 70's. I was 5 or 6 at that time. She came home just gushing over him. We listened to him so much even I still know the words to quite a few songs. I will always remember those good-times and those memories will give me great joy in the years to come. I am going to share this story with my children when I get home.

Freddy was the greatest! All the songs he sang had meaning, the ones he wrote himsef, songs he sang that belonged to other writers and singers. His heart and soul went into all of them. Sympathy to his family.

I do love Freddy Fender´s music and his voice, and have most of his collections,
but - I really would like to get Across the borderline, Freddy and Ry Cooder.
Can anyone tell the me the name of the album ?
All the best to all fans of Freddy.
R.I.P Freddy

Everyday my grandmother picks me up from school and when she drops me off at home she says,"Goodbye Grasshopper". It makes me happy to hear her say that because when my grandfather died I felt like everything disappeared. But now that i know that he is alright and that my grandmother is calling me what he called me, I feel alive and happy. I just dont show how I feel because that's just not me.
