Its going to be the anniversary of Freddies passing soon. Cannot believe a year has gone by so fast, just shows how short a time we are here to enjoy life. I miss my friend a lot.

Just read Marla Huerta Garcias message. I would love to visit Freddys museum. Keep me posted. Just wanted you to know that Freddy touched millions of peoples lives and moreso, several generations. His music "is" the people. He didnt go "Hollywood" or sell out, he was , and is, our Tejano roots. I grew up on his music, got married to his words, my children know his songs. He is that bond that brinsg famiies together. We "all" mourn his passing but rejoice in knowing that his music and heart are still very much alive. God bless those who supported and protected him....his family.

Freddy Fender was the "peoples singer". Everyone called him "freddy" as a family member would. In every aspect of my life, he was there. I recalled sending my parents two times in a row, for thier anniversary, to Freddys concerts at Stevens Steakhouse in California. My father both times came back with pictures of him and Freddy saying, "Freddy remembered me". As a Christian, I was recently handed a beautiful copy of a Freddy Fender recording for Christ. God bless you Freddy Fender, you have always been, and will be, a part of our family. You are not a legend my brother, you are a LEGACY. Let me know if anyone has any info on Freddys recordings for Christ. Im not finding anything. To the Fender family, whats better in life than to KNOW that this great artist is now singing for Christ? Be at peace and love him as we do....as though hes still here with us.

Had no idea that Freddie Fender had passed. I was just driving in my car and asked my husband to sing "Rancho Grande" for me, and it made me think if Freddie. I just did a little web search to see if he was still singing and found this site.
So many great memories of his music - it is forever tied up with visions of my past, particularly Rancho Grande and The Next Teardrop. I am very grateful for his music and sorry to see him go. My regards and prayers to his wife and family.

I thank Almighty for the life of such a great person.it's the first time i'm reading about him, though i knew and enjoyed his music.
As kids we always refered to him as "WE WERE DANCING" you know that's part of the lyrics of his beautiful song "I ALMOST TOUCHED YOUR HANDS"
Most of all i'm grateful to GOD for saving Freddy before his death.
Much love to his family and close friends and to all who have made this site a possibility.
GOD BLESS YOU

Hello,
This is Freddy's daughter, Marla. Unfortunately, the original date of opening for the mini museum has been pushed back and we are unaware of when it will be ready. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will inform you right away when we are given a confirmation. However, we all deeply appreciate your eagerness for the museum. Remember that this is a small museum in remembrance of our father to suffice until the larger museum is ready and the finalizing on freddy's grave site are in order and done which will be in 2 years. We are also currently making some changes to the website for everyone which will allow those near and far to make purchases on line using paypal as well as allow you to be more involved and updated on new projects, items, and contact with other fans and tributes for our father. The family would like to keep all of his fans, friends and family involved in current events concerning my dad because you have been here since the beginning all the way to the end. Should you have any questions regarding any of the following information please don?t hesitate to post a message in the guestbook. We view your messages daily and appreciate them.
It is almost a year now and yet the heartache is so fresh. It has been difficult for all of us but your prayers and thoughts bring some comfort in knowing he will not be forgotten.
Thank you and God Bless,
Marla

Freddy's singing & songs have so much depth and feeling. Most all the songs he sang were of love or about love. I will listen to them for the rest of my days. My regards to his family

What an honor to have a water tower with your name on it proudly displaying "SAN BENITO-HOME OF FREDDY FENDER" You are a true idol. Touching the lives of the american people, and the latino culture. To make music that speaks to your heart is a talent. My prayers are with you and your family. Through god, all things are POSSIBLE.
Blessings,
Amanda

I wish I had met you. I've been listening as long as I can remember.
"Secret Love" is one of the songs I sing while working.
Thanks for all the memories
