I have loved and folowed Freddys music since I was 12. I an now 52, I have had the privalidge of meeting Freddy , Doug, Auggie and Flacko on sevaral occasions. I just loved all thst they did. They treated all fans with a real down home, everybodys the same type attitude. I spoke with Freddy and Doug back in the early 90's at a gig at the House Blues. I gave them selection of songs I wanted to Hear and in what order.They said Ok like I was someone important and said we will see what they could do. They mixed it up a little but played all I asked for. At the end of the set. Doug called me out on the PA and asked " Greg did we cover your Songs? I went up on the stage and replied by sayin. " My brother thought I was crazy for asking. Freddy replied by saing " All you gotta do is tell us what you want to Hear. The custumer is all ways right." I all most peade my pants. I grew up listening to Freddy's music, in the 70's & 80's. Enjoyed it then and still listen to it today. It really saddens me to hear of his passing. My prayers, go out to his family and

I cant beleive Freddy Fender passed away I grew up listening to his music when I was small my Grandma would play it all the time. I remember getting his autograph when he came to the Porterville Fair. You will be missed Freddy may you rest in peace.

I am so sorry to lose such a talented guy. Many times your songs have helped me over rough times. You have been seriously loved by many, many people. God bless you and keep on singing. Till the last teardrop falls.

I just found out that Freddy pasted away and I am so sad. I really enjoyed his music. I have seen him in person a few times and just loved his songs and he was a GREAT entertainer.

My sincere condolances to the Familia of Freddy Fender. I first heard his music when my parents, my dad being from Laredo, Tejas and mom from Houston played his 8 tracks in both our car and home. And when he got together with Flaco Jimenez, my dad went wild. He loved "conjunto" music. The acordion made his blood boil. Thanks for music Freddy and the memories.
