"We will miss Freddy Fender dearly".
I remember hearing his song at the age of 6 yrs old when my mother use to play "Wastedays&Wastednights". I fell in love with that song. When my parents & relatives would have a party, everyone would gather around and would sing till the kids got tired. "Freddy Fender" has gave me so many special memories in my childhood that he will be "MISSED DEARLY"
Freddy: You are the rain, the sun and the light. We will always remember you for you brought joy & laughter in my home. There will never be another that brought Mexican & Mexican-American pride. You're family were "BLESSED" to have someone in their life to represent the Hipanics of the world". "We love You Freddy"

Your songs will always be remember. When I was a young girl I would listen to the radio and listen to the song "Before the Next Tear-drop Falls". This song would always be playing at home and on the radio. My siblings always had your records playing.

As a little girl, I use to listen to my dad sing his heart out to your music night after night on his 8-track. At 9 yrs old I knew all the words to Wasted Days and Wasted Nights. Nearly 30 yrs later, I still love hearing your music on the radio. May your legend live on forever. Many condolences to your family. Descansa en paz.

Freddy Fender, a man I will never forget. Freddy came to Phoenix frequently and it was during an appearance at the ARIZONA STATE FAIR in the late 70's that we saw him at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. After his show, Freddy stayed to sign autographs and the crowd was pushing and shoving toward the stage where he was seated. My 4 year old son was almost overtaken by the pushing crowd. I looked up at Freddy and he saw what was about to happen to my son. He motioned to me to lift him up to him and said, Come here Mijo, and sat him on stage right next to him. He was so kind and down to earth. I loved Freddy for his music and for the kind man he was. I will never forget him or his kindness.

I'M 54, AND I REMEMBER WELL, HOW HOT THE
AIRWAVES WERE, WITH FREDDY FENDER MUSIC
BACK IN THE 1970'S. THERE IS A YOUNG
HISPANIC MAN, WHO SINGS AT OPRYS, IN THE
DALLAS/FT.WORTH AREA(AND BEYOND), WHO
PERFORMS FREDDY'S MUSIC WITH DETAILED
ACCURACY AND FEELING. IN RESPECT TO THIS MAN'S PRIVACY, I WON'T MENTION HIS
NAME. I WILL, HOWEVER, SAY THAT HIS
STAGE NAME IS JUST ONE WORD. TO FRED-
DY'S FAMILY I'D LIKE TO PAY MY CONDOLEN-
CES, AND TO THANK THEM FOR SHARING HIM
WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD. HE HAS LEFT
BEHIND A GREAT MUSICAL LEGACY. HE WILL
BE MISSED.
