Freddy,
One of my favorites song was "When the Next Tear Drop Falls". I love your singing and songs, especially, when you were with the Texas Tornados.

I remember seeing Freedy at The Moose Lodge back in the early 90's. It was a great concert. We took pictures and everything. My Parents use to play his records when we were growing up. I will never forget him. My heart goes out to your family. God Bless. Rest In Peace.
Love, Lilly

Fredie Fender - great artist. He sang many great songs but my favorite theme "La Paloma", one of the best version ever.
I am going to miss Him.

On behalf of my mum and myself I would like to thank you Freddy Fender for bringing your music to us!
My dad(who passed many years ago) always use to buy your music for my mum because it expressed so much and we then became lucky enough to appreciate as we grew.
May your next journey be full of music!

What I remember about Mr. Freddy Fender are his occassional visits to my uncle's weekend pachangas. I would see him from a distance but never got the courage to shake his hand. Everything everyone has written about him is the absolute truth. What wonderful and fond memories we will cherish of el Gran Freddy Fender. His music, the HAIR and that magnificent SMILE! Freddy would probably want us to SMILE and be HAPPY. To Ms. Vangie and family, our prayers are with you at this difficult time. God Bless You.
QUE VIVA LA MUSICA DE BALDEMAR HUERTA!

Growing up in Harlingen, Tx (7 miles north of San Benito), I remember hearing my mother singing Freddy Fender's songs. She was one of his biggest fans. My thoughts and prayers are with Freddy's family. I always associate him with home and pleasant memories.

I will always remember a story I read about told by Doug Sahm on how back in the day, he and Freddy would sit at Commanche Park with a couple of beers to watch the baseball games. I know the park well- the sad news really hits home. They both will surely be missed. Freddy will always be the best!
