My heart goes out to the Huerta Family. My dad was born in San Benito and knew Freddy so I was fortunate enough to be exposed to his music at a very young age. Thank you Freddy for the wonderful music you leave us. May you be with the angels in heaven. I know you are up there singing away.

 It's very sad to know that Freddy Fender Passed away but I do know something he left lot's of love behind for his familia and fans I talk to Freddy when he performed at the san Manuel Indian and Bingo casino with Little Joe and la familia.
That man looked so strong and I was just so happy to meet him because my mom and grandma loves his music. Now he can be in heaven with my grandama.
My heart goes out to the Huerta Family and God Bless your Heart and be with you. All I can say Is Baldemar Better know as Freddy Fender was and will be Love. He is a ledgened.

Freddie was a great musician and friend! I met him on my 8th birthday when I was on tour with my father, Eligio, in Phoenix, Arizona. Since that first time, he captured my heart with his beautiful smile and unique great voice! Later, we (Kenji & I) were his guests at one of his shows in El Paso and he treated us like royalty. Freddie helped my dad record his very first record "South of the Border" in San Benito and for that, I owe him! God bless his family during this difficult time; our prayers are with you! Thank you, Freddie, for all your music and for your friendship. We will miss you deeply! Vava con dios, amigo de mi alma!

Freddy Fender, you were a wonderful musician who wrote beautiful music and like Doug Psalm you will be missed. My brother is a country music singer song writer and Doug Psalm was his biggest backer, he passed shortly after backing my brothers CD, anyway we loved you both... as musicians and humans... please hug him and tell him we miss him as I am sure he already knows. You will be missed by all! As a small child my family was stationed in Weisbaden Germany. I can remember going to the resturaunts and putting quaters in the juke box to hear your music and dance all by myself at the ripe age of 5 and 6 years old. Singing the music as loud as I could in both German and English. My sympathies to your family on their loss and my love to you always. Your will forever live on in our hearts!

listened to his music for years and love the song Before the Next Tear Drop Falls, I even love to sing it to, once I got my hair done in an affrro and one
of my friends said I looked like Freddy Fender.
