Our condolences the Fender Family. Our band plays some of Freddys songs and we always get a great response. We'll keep playing them with a little sadness now ,but we will always remember the joy he brought to many thru the years. Peace

I think the struggles he had growing up and starting his career made his music authentic and straight from the heart.
He was real and his music reflected it.

He was an amazingly talented,versatile artist whose songs were aimed directly to your heart and hit your soul along the way.

His musical stylings beautifully captured ALL of the magnificent musicial diversity and cultures that are OUR Texas!

Missing you my friend. My family and I saw you many times and we were always given a great show. When my grandfather was dying of cancer, you were kind enough to send him a signed picture. I hope you two are having fun up there talking about the old days in Tejas. Take my brother, God bless and I hope your family has comfort that you are at peace, resting with the Lord. i am so so very sorry about the most greatest singer ever i am only 16 but i remember every christmas instead of my Grandma putting on christmas carrols we listened to Freddy over and over my momo loved him so much she had every record and know i am sue she is so happy that he is up there in heaven and she can here him sing all the time to her and me and my family once again are extememly sorry love ya!

i grew up in this town in texas called san benito; and i remeber my mom putting freddy fender's music. so sorry that he pasted away. my coldoense to his family. his music will live on forever in our hearts.

Hi Vangie and kids, my favorite scripture at the times my Mom and Dad went to Heaven. God said He is the God of Abraham, Issacc and Jacob, and Jesus said He's not the God of the dead but of the living. Though they had been in their graves for years, from the Master's own lips they are alive. Although I knew this, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" it somehow made it even more real and precious that they are alive but in a different place, a wonderful place Heaven. I am so glad to hear that Freddy accepted Jesus as his Saviour.

Freddy Fender, you will be missed dearly. Your "Since I Met You Baby" was the first song my husband and I danced to at our wedding 2 years ago. On Saturday, we saw your dear friend Flaco Jimemez pay tribute to you with a moment of silence at the accordion festival. Everyone's thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

I listened to Freddy when I was a child and I became hooked and still am, my thoughts are with your family, you will be well and truly missed, may your music live on Vaya Con Dios "Go with God" my brother

We as a family are saddened by the news of Freddie's death. While our fathers and uncles grew up next door to him in Harlingen and Los Indios. They picked the same cotton and migrated to some of the same areas in Texas.

For the children in the family we can remember the barbcues that played your beautiful music and the dancing, singing, and great time of our parents, friends and family.

My dad still has one of your 8 track tapes that he can still play on an 8 track player.

You are truly an inspiration for what you accomplished in your life.

You will be missed not only by the man you were, but because of the legacy you leave behind.

"Freddy Fender of the Hollywood" is what I called him as a little girl my mom tells me and she does not know where I got this from. Thanks to my mom and dad's love for him & his music, I too became a huge fan @ the age of three. I was fortunate enough to attend two of his concerts with my mom, was able to meet him and shake his hand. My mom would joke and say he was my real dad...my dad who passed in 2005 never made it to any of his concerts but we know Freddy is singing for him right now. When we heard Freddy passed my mom and I went to my aunts house had his autographed picture up,his music playing,some drinks, and reminisced(she remembers the way she and my dad danced to each of his songs). He will always be in our hearts and his music forever in our lives. Thank you Freddy Fender for your GREAT music and memories you created for my family. Huerta family- May God give you strength.

wow! A great legend gone to heaven to begin his new life. My mom passed away 9-16-2006 Freddy was one of her favorite artist for many many years.
Now she will enjoy his music all the time for they are both in heaven.
God bless the family for I know how hard this is but just remember there is not a better reward. Someday may we all be together with all our love ones.
