I had the distinct pleasure of having Tammy Huerta as a friend and roommate for several years. I remember her talking about her dad and family. She was very proud of them. I also remember her toes. She would lay on the couch and her toes would just dance. She would say I can't help it music is just in my blood. She loved her dad very much. My heart goes out to you Tammy and your family. My condolences to Freddy's family. We lived in The Valley in the 1980s. My son was born in San Benito. Freddy was a great representative of San Benito. His music will be with us always.

I recently found out that Freddy has past,...on the day of my birthday... It was a rainy weekend & now I know why..God has taken Someone Special, an Angel to the Heavens above , who we will see & hear again someday.* I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but grew up listening to his music, & stories my parents have shared..I send my deepest sympathy to his family, & may God bless you all & bring peace to your hearts*!*

I went to visit Freddy's Hollywood Star after attending the Sunday Mass today just to find NOT A SINGLE FLOWER on it. I picked 3 flowers from the garden of a nearby hotel and placed it there. I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Fender's passing today. My dad and uncle passed away from lung cancer and I understand the pain and loss of someone loved. I will keep Mr. Fender and his family in my thoughts and prayers.

Here's hoping Freddy's desire to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame will soon be a reality. There is none so deserving as he. My heart goes out to his family, may God comfort you all in this time of sorrow.
