A true Texas legend, Freddy will be missed. As a kid I remember Freddy coming to the bars and never remember a time that the place wasn't packed wall to wall. Buddy, you are already missed. Prayers go to out to your family. Farewell, and may God bless you and keep you.

I am so sorry to hear about your passing. In the late 90s my husbands band opened for you in Camp Verde ARizona. I have got to meet some "big names" in the music business and when people ask me who I like best I answer that Freddy Fender was by far the nicest. May God bless your family.

Freddy,
In the Mississippi Delta, you were big during my high schools days. I will never forget your big hit in 1975, "Before the Next Teardrop Falls." I was going through tough racial times. Your songs helped ease that tension during that era. Although you may have encountered many struggled before, during, and after success this song still climbed to No. 1 on the pop and country charts.
Who could ever forget, "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" that rose to No. 1 on the country chart and top 10 on the pop chart that same year, while "Secret Love" and "You'll Lose a Good Thing" also hit No. 1 on the country charts. You will continue to be an inspiration to people around the world. You have made your mark. You will be greatly missed. Thank you for your musical contribution to this world.
I love you and you will be greatly missed.
Martha

My parents were from Santa Rosa, Texas. They grew up picking cotton all over South Texas and listening to Freddy Fender on the radio. I listened to Freddy Fender at the local Taco Cabanas while in college in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, Texas. It's funny how the times change but, the music of Freddy Fender will live forever!!!

I first heard Freddy Fender in a mexican restaurant that my mom would take us to every weekend. She would always go to the jukebox and play "Before The Next Teardrop Falls" and "Wasted Days". Those were some of the best memories I have of my mom. I thank her for introducing me to Freddy and his music.
Rest in Peace
