Some years ago I donated an almost brand new Eddie y Los Shades long play to Vangie Huerta. She honored me with a cd and some pictures of Freddy that I still keep.
The songs "No esta aquÃ", "Acapulco Rock" and "Lucy Lucy" were some of our 50s and 60s favorites and they still play them as classic spanish rock in the radio.
Altought I am from La Feria, I live in Monterrey an believe it or not, I still dont have the chance to visit the museum, but I promise I will this year.

I grew up listening to Freddy Fender and love every one of his songs. I am originally from Montana, probably not the place most people associate w/ Freddy's listeners, but que puedo decir? Freddy's music was inspirational, probably the reason I married a Latina. Freddy, thanks for the tears, the laughs and the great appreciation I have for music in general. Que En Paz Descanses

Happy birthday Grandpa!!!
I wish I was with you once again to tell u I've missed you, but I'm still here in this crap hole waiting for that day to come. U always told me not to take life serious but I always did the exact opposite.now I see what you were talking about. Thanks for being in my life and showing me how to love one another. I couldn't be more grateful to god to have u in my life.
love,
dectorio-king of the Huerta frontier
