I was just so amazed to have found out that Freddy Fender has passed, I would like to say that in his passing we have all lost a wonderful singer. I have loved his music since I was a child.
My condolences goes out to all the family and friends of Freddy.

I love all his music he did. I hate all the new country music that's coming out these days- they're not even country. Atleast Mr. Fender dressed nice; those other country music singers today go out in jeans, a cowboy hat, cowboy boots- and it looks like they're wearing girls under shirts. I'm glad Mr. Fender sang about nice, catchy tunes... WHO SINGS ABOUT PICKING TICKS OFF GIRLS!!!! HONESTLY!! Mr. Fender was REAL country... they're what you call red necks!!

Hi grandpa, I know that your looking down on us and wondering if we're all ok, don't worry, we are. We miss you and love you alot. I miss you calling me "grasshopper" though, it's not the same without you here and talking to me in Spanish. I never told you but you were my hero. I admired you because no matter where you were, you never forgot about where you came from, your hometown of SAN BENITO TEXAS.
I love you and miss you
From your little Grasshopper

Freddy performed at our casino (Northern Lights Casino). The first time I met him coming off the plane, before I could say anything, he said "I got some of that Viagra stuff, but the doctor said your too old for sex, I don't want it for sex, I am tired on pissing on my feet". Freddy told me that, even before he said hello. I love and miss Freddy.

FREDDY FENDER IS MY FAVORITE ARTIST. HE IS WONDERFUL. I SPENT A MONTH IN YOUR WONDERFUL TOWN SEVERAL YEARS AGO WITH MY YOUTH GROUP AND DID A VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL FOR THE LOCAL CHILDREN. IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE. I HATED TO LEAVE. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THE LYRICS TO SOME OF FREDDY'S SONGS. CAN ANYONE HELP ME?

Congratulations on the museum opening and dedication in October. As a drummer and band manager for Phoenix Band, I grew to know Freddy while touring with him in Europe. That was always a strong country music market for Freddy and still is even after his passing. I will always remember the back room joke sessions Freddy told with all the "Tex Mex" jokes. We laughed so hard, we cried...but now for a different reason.

Freddy,
Your music came from your soul. Your talent came from God. Your drive to become a musician (by cobbling broken guitars) is truely an inspiration. You are sincerely missed every day.
Sleep in peace, my friend.

Adios, Freddie - I just yesterday received my Texas Tornados DVD and - MAN - I haven't seen a performance like that since seeing the Stones before they "cleaned up." Freddie, you & Sir Doug will be sorely missed, but rest assured, Augie & Flaco are still carrying on the tradition. And thank you sort of retroactively for "Wasted Days" and "Teardrop" - I'm sorry I wasn't hip to Tex Mex when I was younger.
