Hello,
The passing of my father has been one of the most difficult experiences in our life. I pray to the Lord everyday for watching over him and all of those we know and love. My heart would almost be empty if it were not for my mother, my girls, and family.
I am sure many of you are aware that it will soon be a year this Sunday October 14, 2007 since my father left us. We the family are asking all of you who have kept us in your prays since the begining as well as after to lend your time and hearts once again this Sunday at precisely 12.14 p.m. This time indicates the moment my father passed away. We will be there at this exact time with my father. So I am writing to all of my father?s friends, fans, and family to ask that on this day of remembrance we stop and say a special prayer in memory of him. We sincerely thank each and every one of you.
Missing you dad,
Marla

There was only one Freddy Fender and he will be sorely missed. I believe the person singing "Before the Next Teardrop Falls" at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ndi_6Gii04 and "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9SpobHVOTo is a very safe and sane and non-egotistical Freddy Fender tribute person. I absolutely adore it. Does anyone know who he is? He goes by the name of "Johnny Pal."

Freddy Fender was one of the main entertainers that influenced my life. I respected the man for being able to overcome many obstacles to get to where he got. Subsequently, I started to sing many of Freddy's songs at my entertainment gigs. Now I am preforming as a Freddy Fender impersonator in paying tribute to the man.(Elvis has some, Frankie has some so Freddy should too.) I will be preforming at the APACHE
GOLD CASINO in Globe,Arizona on Dec 7-8, 2007 as Freddy Fender so all you Freddy Fender fans come out and pay your respect to his memory and enjoy listening to some of his songs again.

Of desolation heal
Life is you too sometimes nevertheless heavy
Try a little bit resemble then
On a clown, who weeps in its heart
But laugh with on the violin plays
For a child
For this way its own heart of desolation to heal?

Dear Tammy,
I just read some of your messages. They are so heartbraking and tender. There is so much love in it. Your dad must have been so proud to have a daughter like you. I'm a 52 years old mother of 2 beautifull children (27 and 22) . And I know the feeling of love for a child. Keep on living with wunderfull memories! Keep on writing! Keep on talking to your dad! He hears it... I'm sure of it. And one day... you'll meet again.
Big hug,
Janny

Just read Marla Huerta Garcias message. I would love to visit Freddys museum. Keep me posted. Just wanted you to know that Freddy touched millions of peoples lives and moreso, several generations. His music "is" the people. He didnt go "Hollywood" or sell out, he was , and is, our Tejano roots. I grew up on his music, got married to his words, my children know his songs. He is that bond that brinsg famiies together. We "all" mourn his passing but rejoice in knowing that his music and heart are still very much alive. God bless those who supported and protected him....his family.

Freddy Fender was the "peoples singer". Everyone called him "freddy" as a family member would. In every aspect of my life, he was there. I recalled sending my parents two times in a row, for thier anniversary, to Freddys concerts at Stevens Steakhouse in California. My father both times came back with pictures of him and Freddy saying, "Freddy remembered me". As a Christian, I was recently handed a beautiful copy of a Freddy Fender recording for Christ. God bless you Freddy Fender, you have always been, and will be, a part of our family. You are not a legend my brother, you are a LEGACY. Let me know if anyone has any info on Freddys recordings for Christ. Im not finding anything. To the Fender family, whats better in life than to KNOW that this great artist is now singing for Christ? Be at peace and love him as we do....as though hes still here with us.

Had no idea that Freddie Fender had passed. I was just driving in my car and asked my husband to sing "Rancho Grande" for me, and it made me think if Freddie. I just did a little web search to see if he was still singing and found this site.
So many great memories of his music - it is forever tied up with visions of my past, particularly Rancho Grande and The Next Teardrop. I am very grateful for his music and sorry to see him go. My regards and prayers to his wife and family.

I thank Almighty for the life of such a great person.it's the first time i'm reading about him, though i knew and enjoyed his music.
As kids we always refered to him as "WE WERE DANCING" you know that's part of the lyrics of his beautiful song "I ALMOST TOUCHED YOUR HANDS"
Most of all i'm grateful to GOD for saving Freddy before his death.
Much love to his family and close friends and to all who have made this site a possibility.
GOD BLESS YOU
