My dad listened to his music and sing it to me regularily. I haven't heard his music in so long that when I heard it in a movie it reminded me of those special times with my dad. Now my dad has passed on and fortunately I have this music to always remind me of those special days. Thank You.

a performer that I was unfamiliar with until about ten years ago. Now he has become one of my favorite singers, both in his solo career and with the Texas Tornados. With the lack of quality music being produced today he will be sincerely missed

I've listened to Freddy's music longer than I can remember. In the late 1980s I met Freddy at Yokota Air Base Japan where he was doing concerts for several nights. After his show at the NCO Club Freddy and I would go to the bars in the town of Fussa and party hard. He and I talked of many things in his life including his time in the Marines. I was a First Sergeant and Freddy told me that although he had gotten in trouble for drinking and fighting, his First Sergeant had treated him fairly and had stuck up for him. Freddy's music is great but Freddy is a wonderful person and I will always consider him a friend as well. By the way I did not know until reading this guestbook that he and I have the same birthday, June 4. He was exactly ten years older than me. Maybe the reason that we hit it off so well was our sharing a birthday. My love to Freddy and his family.

I played "Before The Next Teardrop Falls" on the Jukebox of my local diner the night that Mr Fender passed. I grew up with his music and will always remember him. David

Coming back from South Padre to McAllen, as I went through San Benito I once again thought of the music of Freddy Fender, and of the man who chose that name. He made an impact on so many of us, touched our hearts - and still does...
God bless you

I am so very sorry for your loss. I just wanted to let you know that I grew up listening to Freddy's music. He was my mother's favorite singer bar none and she had every album he ever made up until her death back in 95 so I have had a love for his music ever since I can remember.
He will be missed.
But yes, he is in a better place where he can rest and feel healthy again.
Hugs to the whole family,
Tonya

To the Fender family,
I am so sorry for your lost. I just found out today. I came across his music and I am listening to him as I write this. I lost my sister, age 48 of lung cancer, in Jan, 2007. Another sister of breast cancer in Dec. 2003. Also at the age of 48. I know what you all went through. My sister also loved his music. I know one day we will all be together again. He left us with all his music. Which will live on forever. Thank you, FREDDY FENDER. May you rest in peace. We love you and miss you.

Thank you for your sweet and sexy music. I love how you often broke into Spanish; it's so much prettier though I don't understand a lot of the words. Thanks for the dance it's been a long time. May your family find comfort in the blessing of your life. Be sure to look up Johnny Horton; he's a sweet spirit too.

I have offered my condolences to Freddys'
family shortly after his death. Since then I visit the guestbook once a week.
When family / friends & fans write their
feelings...I am getting to know the man
that puts me to sleep most nights with his music. I am just about his age having
been a fan from the beginning. Please
continue to write your feelings for Freddy & his family. Rest in Peace Freddy.

Freddy, thank you so much for representing me, my family, and the rest of the Mexican Americans from the Valley and all over the United States. You never were embarrassed of who you were and you never forgot where you came from nor denied your heritage. You proved that when we accept who we are we can shine so brightly that you can succeed in any environment..i.e. country, top 40, rock and roll, movies etc. Born in Edinburg, Texas and having been raised in Pharr, Texas, I as well as my father, mother and other family members enjoy your songs, the Milagro Beanfield War and are proud to say that Freddie was one of us. Thank you for being the great person and role model that you were and still are. Thank You Baldemar. You did it!

It's been only a few months since you passed on to be with our Lord. All I can say is if you see my father, say hello to him for me and I'm sure you both will end up singing together up there. He loved your music and I remember all the times with the familia playing your songs. You truly are an inspiration and I want to thank you for all that you have given to so many of us. You surely are an angel that needed to be here on earth. Now it's time for you to finish your journey in heaven. May God Bless the familia of Freddy Fender and God Bless all those who have been touched by him.
