First time I saw Freddie was in El Paso/Juarez in 1960. He had a hit song, Te Esperare, out at the time. Can anyone tell me where I could get a recording of that song or the lyrics? Thank you!

Dear Vangie, Please know that I pray for you & my sister, daily. She lost her husband in July to cancer. My heart aches for both of you. Freddy lives in my heart and in his beautiful music. Thanks for this web site, I just found it today. I haven't read all the messages yet. I just finished reading the article about his experience with the angel and I cried. He was a wonderful man. I met freddy when he pulled in for gas in Palmyra N.J.after her was in Alantic City doing a show. After getting his gas he sang until the next tear drop fall for me. I have always enjoyed his music and I will greatly miss him. His music was what got me thru being deployed on the Uss America and being away from my friends and family in the 70's. He will always live in my memories and be the greatest singer to enter my ears.

Freddy Fender's music fills my heart so very much. Especialy because I was raised hearing his music, reminds me of all my Tia and Tio's drinking and dancing around the table. But over all, todo el musica reminds me of the two people I Love and I know Love each other with all there hearts-my Father & Mother. It's as if the songs he sang where written for my mom and dad. I regret not sending them to see him in concert before his passing, the chance was there and I didn't take it. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

My wife and I drove to Tunica, Mississippi three seperate times to hear Freddy in Ballys Casino. Twice we were very well rewarded for the trip. We lisented to the man with the angelic voice and great sense of humor. Once we were disappointed because Freddy was ill.
Out of all the concerts we have seen there over the years, Freddy ranked right up at the top. He seemed to be a fine man. We sorry for your loss as well as the whole musical community.

I am a radio personality in Cincinnati Ohio, and got a sneek peek a the new Billy Bob Thornton movie "The Astronaut Farmer."
In the movie the producers did a great job in Honoring the memory of "when the next tear drop falls" by Freddie Fender with a touching slow-dance sequence with the lead actors. Great use of a great song you don't hear that much on the radio anymore. Hearing that song in a movie like that, was a great way to keep Baltamar's influince around for generations to come..
Freddie was a good man.

I just want to say that Freddy still lives in my heart and soul.
As a young boy, I remember watching him and my uncles practice and play at times at our home. They played in the garage on Acacia Lake. Somtime between the late 60's early 70's.
For his influence on me. Our band is dedicating our first album to Freddy my Uncle Ben, Johnny and my dad Bule.
Hope all is well.

Grew up listening to Freddy's music, some of the first songs I learned to play on the guitar were Freddy's songs.
We love you Freddy!
