I cried when I found out Freddy passed on.I have memories of when I was 6 yrs old and my mom and dad danced to"Before the next teardrop falls" That was their last dance together. They divorced a yr later. I will always remember that moment, they looked so happy and I had taken that Freddy Fender cassette and just listened in my room thinking about my dad. Everyday I would listen to Freddy Fender and for a moment everything was going to be ok. I am 35 yrs old now and I listen to him still when i feel a lil down. I have always wanted to see him in concert, when I found out that he was going to perform at a casino here in Wi,I could not go cuz I was in a car accident the day before.I listened to his cassette, yes, cassette,I STILL have it,lol.Thank you Freddy, you made me feel so much better. Now my son is learning to play those songs that I love so much. Thank you Freddy. I love ya lots, Phoebe

We are truly sorry for your loss. He was a great singer and his music will live on in every one who listens to his unique voice. I have been a fan for 15 years. Yesterday was my birthday and my husband had a CD imported from America for me and we spent the whole evening dancing to Freddy. This morning we logged on to find more of Freddys music and came across his biography only to discover he passed on 3 months ago. It was a truly sad moment for us.Thank-you freddy for hours of brilliant music.
All our love Jeanette and John.

I was saddened to hear of Freddy's passing. I grew up in Corpus Christi listening to his music as a child and would see him in the media all the time throughout my life. Even when I was going to college in Austin, I would see him walking around by the hotels or restaurants. His music is timeless and will entertain generations to come. Texas will not be the same without him.

I was never much in Texas. I was 18 in 1977 and far away from my home state. I
got in trouble and got incarcerated wrongfully. I had no Idea what was on the outside en San Antonio, Texas. No possibli, except for loca TV. The BAD NEWS ELVIS and IRAN. No love except for small commercial of Senor Freddie Fender
and his love songs. Some 7-10 times un dia. Mucho gusto tu amor, Amigo.

Dear Vangie,and children, I loved
Freddy and his singing so much. He will
never be forgotten, and I just read about
how he seen the Lord in the car ,to me
that was a vision from God that it was
soon time for him to come home, God
knew he was suffering and werry laden.
And thank God he's not suffering anymore.
You'll miss Freddy he'll always be in
your heart forever, and every body else
who knew him.I Loved Freddy, and loved his singing. God Bless all of you this
New Year. God be with you all. Love Reba

Dear Tammy, I hope this new year brings health and happiness to all of Freddys loved ones. I know his memory will live with you always. Freddy was a wonderful man as well as a great entertainer. Your family has a lot to be proud of as I'm sure you know. Please take good care of your mother and your siblings as well of yourself. I hope to have the pleasure of meeting you one day. Meeting your father was a great joy in my life. Best Always, Carole Canant

When I was about seven or eight, my favorite singer in the whole world was Freddy Fender. I had one of his albums on cassette (To put the time frame in perspective, this was so long ago it was before the clear plastic or black and clear plastic clamshell cases caught on. The tape was in a solid blue plastic one piece case.), and I wore the damn thing out.
Anyway, I was on a flight with my dad (and my sister, I think) to god knows where, and Freddy Freaking Fender was on the same plane. My dad took me up to meet him.
The details of the exchange are hazy to me, and all I really remember is a feeling of awe. To a little kid, it was like meeting the friendly genetic amalgam of Jesus and The Hulk.
Honestly, I haven't kept up with his career in recent years, but It really doesn't matter. All I need to know is that he was really nice to a little kid that liked him. Thanks, Freddy.

Dear Vangie & family, Many miracles were wrought by Freddy's life here on earth in the short time we had him. He gave me hope when I was down. My heart broke the day he died, I didn't listen to any of his music until Xmas Eve, then I sat alone listening to Before The Next Teardrop Falls. I asked God "why" and the tears began falling for you, Freddy, the Little Grasshopper & other family members. He lives, Vangie, in your heart and mine and he will never die as long as we have our memories and his music. I asked God to just wrap his arms around you Xmas Eve and give you comfort as only God can. Take care, we love you as Freddy's wife even tho we never met. Louise

Peace and love to Freddy. He was my Twin and he new it too. He visited me often and alway was like a big brother to me. We became very god friends at charlie's and then he went his way and I went mine. He was very inspiring to me and also was the key note speaker to my R and R class when I got out of prison, At the Federal Building with Reuben and Edna. we were the fast and the furious. He brought me a roll of duct tape prior to my incarceration in 1992, and told me that, it was all i needed in prison. He was a true friend. I loved his purple house which eventually changed color on Ocean Drive, He will Live in my heart always.. Peace and love..The Pig

Blessed we are to have known that the music that Freddy has played all over the nation has given all of us peace, tears , and smiles, I was fortunate to see Freddy here in Turlock, California many years ago, the concert had my entire family with smiles, tears, and laughing it was an experience that I and my entire family will cherish forever. GOD bless the family with PEACE, Freddy's at a better place where there is no SUFFERING and so much LOVE.
