Freddy Fender is a great singer and musician. He was a good man. He was great Texan.

I'll miss Freddy for a little while. I'm sure I'll hear him playing again as soon as I get to heaven.

how sad to see the news of one of the greatest singers i have ever heard and my heart goes to freddys family and his friends, i have only been listening to his music since the late seventies after finding "before the next teardrop fall" and have not stopped listening to his music since his music will live forever god bless you all from a devoted fan in england

We are so sadden by the loss of Freddy. I was just sitting down to read CNN, when I saw his picture about his passing. I couldn't hold my tears, because we all go way back with Freddy. We will miss you deeply but I know the good Lord has a hold of you now. He blessed you with a beautiful talent here on earth, and now your sharing that beautiful talent with the Lord. My daughter and myself took a few pictures with you. What a pleasure it was to meet you. I will cherish thoses pictures forever! I am very saddened by the passing of Freddy. I believe he was a kind and caring individual as well as a talented artist. I feel very sad for his family at this time. Please know that you have my heartfelt sympathies on your loss.

It was a sad day when I read the news that dear Freddy had passed. I am now 40 years old, but it seems like yesterday that my dad played your music on our long trips over to New Mexico from California. Your voice has always been like an old friend to me.

One time, my dad's van had been vandalized, broken into and out of all the things taken, the thing we were the most UPSET about was the 8 track tape of YOUR music. They stole our FREDDY tape!!Remember those HUGE things?

I wrote in your book on Sunday and I was talking to my sisters and we all started to cry, then, my sister Alice said to us I can't belive daddy play wasted days and wasted night for my wedding song, we started to laugh. You see my dad , mom & nana have now pass on . My mom was the last to go and she was his Biggest fan . we play his music when we were planting a rose plant for her one yr. passing. You can take the people out of texas but you can never take texan out people. my famliy was born and raise in texas from nixon ,san antonio,el paso , gonzales.corpus. the list goes on and on ,we still have family out there and they still play the real soul of music ...... I know my mom & and dad are just jumping for joy now , they're sad to see him there but at the same time there telling him take our hand we will show you the way ....

Freddy 15 years ago you made me so happy, you made a special appearance at my Quincenera at the request of your old buddy Jesse my grandfather. I had the pleasure of talking with you last year at the San Manuel Casino in California, when you had the concert and brought the house down it was so great. We talked alittle about my grandfather who I lost 6 years ago and you were not aware of his death. Now you two can rejoice and sing in the heavens together. My grandfather was also from San Benito and he started his band there also (know as San Benito Alegre). I am honoured to have know such a sweet man, freddy fender who took the time to talk to me when he was actually signing autographs after his concert. You will be greatly missed by your buddies, White boy Auggie Meyers, Allen Riche, and the man from down under. You will be greatly missed but your legacy and music lives on. Thank you for all the good times.
