My prayers go out to the family and fans. My family and I were actually interviewed in Nashville and the Ernest Tubb Record Shop on the passing of Fender. To me, he is like George JOnes, Merle Haggard, Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, etc.... His music is differnt. It speaks to you and touches your soul. To really love country music and to be a true country fan, you have to love the legends. And Fender is in "the legends" cateogory.

Freddy, you will be deeply missed by all of my family. I grew up listening to your music with my parents and still listen to this day. My mom and dad love your music as do I. I will always have a special memory of you in my heart. The best thing is..I have my own "Freddy" hear at home! My dad resmbles you very much, and the neat thing is his name is Freddy. (he got asked for an autograph more than once, they kept on insisting he was you)It made him feel great. We will miss you, but we will never forget you!!!!

I have been of fan of Freddy Fender since I was a little girl, my grandmother and my mother and all her sisters raised us on his music, his music is truly one of my fondest memories of growing up and running around in my grandmother's back yard during family reunions and birthdays, we would dance in the garage to his music. His music was a big and still is in my life....it is one of the fondest memories I have of my grandmother when I was a little girl, I lost my grandmother to cancer last year and listening to Mr. Fender's music always reminded me that she was always near, and so at this time of loss, it does sadden me to know that he has passed, but he does live on through his music and to this very day my daughter who is two loves to dance in the kitchen to his songs, Thank you Mr. Fender for all the great memories you have given me and my family through your music..you will forever be in my heart!

I am a vocalist myself. Freddy was an influence of mine. About 16 years ago, my father, grandfather and i met freddy fishing in corpus christi one morning. i will always remember getting to fish with freddy fender that day. it is a memory that will never go away. freddy's music was an inspiration and a part of our lives for all us TEXANS! Freddy may be gone, but he will never be forgotten...amen.

I was so sad to hear the news that Freddie had passed away, I am 36 and can remember his music with such great fondness, I can see my mom cleaning the house on a Saturday, with Freddies "wasted days and wasted nights" on the record player and a glass of wine in one hand and the sweeper in the other, everyone knew that she was doing some serious cleaning when they could hear Freddie clear down the street!! You will be sadly missed!!

I had the good fortune of ssing Freedy in concert on several occassions. The first was at a Super Dance at the San Antonio Convention Center back in 1975. I was hooked. He brought the house down. Freedy will be missed but at least St Peter will be able to enjoy Freddy and his music.

We will miss you! My mom and I used to listen to you when we played cards when I was younger. I grew up listening to your music and have many fond memories.

When I heard about the death of Freddy Fender, it really saddened me.
But, we all know he is in a better place right now.
Singing with the angels.
I remember seeing pictures of Freddy Fender and my mom and dad together.
Mom still has the pictures.
I know she and dad will treasure them as they always have.
