Vangie, God is with you in your time of sadness. My prayer are with you and your family.
I treasure the time I met Freddy at the Golden Acorn Casion in California. Some years ago, that was a wonderful moment for me. I have listened to his music since I was 14 years old and I still enjoy it now that I am in my 40s. Freddy will be missed very much.

Huge Fan of Freddie Fender. I sing all of his hits when I sing Karaoke at the bars. People love it here in southern Illinois. Got the chanc to meet him in person when I was stationed in Frankfurt Germany 1986. He performed at the NCO club Main Shopping px complex. Told him that the Cordova family from New Mexico Loves him. He signed two 8x10 Photo's which I still have. One to All the Cordova's from New Mexico, and the other to me and my Wife. He will be greatly missed. Peace to you my Brother.....

my first taste of music that I remember my mother playing when i was a little boy was Freddy Fender..Everytime I hear a song by him, it takes me back to when I was about 5 years old. Funny how some music triggers memories. God bless Freddy's family and may he rest in peace. Thanks for the music.

Although I never had the opportunity to work with Freddy, I have some friends who did and cherished the experience. A true pioneer and a generous spirit, may he now rest in peace.

When I hear Freddy's music it takes me back to a time and place when I had no worries, Summer's with Grandma. My grandma and I would listen to his music all day and night. I am glad that Freddy had a good life and he will be missed. Whenever I here is music I will say a prayer for him and his family.
love,
From a big fan

I grew up with Freddy Fender. My Dad would put his 8 track tape in and we would listen to him all over town. There is a special place in my heart for him because my Father loved him so much. My Dad would drink and listen to his music and mess up his name....call him Henry Feathers sometimes because of his slurring but, he would always say he was one talented singer. I am a grown woman now and I still listen to his music. My Father is now deceased and will be happy because now he will have Freddy Fender in heaven with him and they can sing all the songs they both love. My thoughts go out to his family. I am mourning and I was not related to him. The World lost a wonderful person and singer yesterday.
God Bless all of the Huerta Family.
