I will miss Freddy Fender very much. I seen him when I was a little girl in Seattle, WA. Me and my sister and step-sister waited in line for his autograph and asked to take a picture of him and he said "let's all take a picture together. Me and my sister sat on his lap. I will always remember that day. The last time I seen him was in Puyallup, WA about 5 years ago. I was having chest pains and didn't want to got to the hospital because I wanted to see Freddy Fender. The pains went away. Karen

Freddie's wife and family. Freddy sung with so much pride and joy, I was so deepened when I visited tijuana to hear freddy had cancer, when I left the states went to canada and Hawaii and to hear that freddy had passed away while I was on holiday broke my heart. My favorite is honky tonk angel (wild side of life) and I know that your husband are with the angels singing my favorite song. Rest in peace and may your family have wonderful memories like I do. margaret

Freddie, May you rest in peace con Dios. I am not a professional singer but you inspired me and I sing your songs all the time in karaoke. You suffered a lot and God chose to take away your hurting. May your family have the strength too until you are all together again. Que Dios, La Virgen y los Santos to Bendigan.

Dear Ms. Vangie Huerta:
I would first like to pay my condolences to the death of your wonderful husband, Mr. Freddy Fender. I would like to share with the two times that I saw your husband in person. The first time was either 1974, 1975, or 1976 in San Carlos, California at a place called "The Circle Star Theater" where he was performing a live concert, I was only eight years and this was my first concert and I can still remember the wonderful way your husband sang. The second time, I saw him was in 1987 in Salinas, California at the California Rodeo where he was a special marshall to the event. I got to shake hands with him and meet with him up close, it was a wonderful experience. I reminded him about the first concert in the late 70's that I first saw him and he laughed because it was in his younger days. I then tried singing like him the song "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" and he said you better stop, you sound better than I do. I am glad that I had the chance to meet him and to say thank you for making my first real concert a blast. I would also like to say thank you to you Ms. Huerta.
