I graduated from San Benito High School in 1951, two years before Freddy. I have listened to Freddy's music my whole life. I play his music every day.

As a kid in the '70's, I thought that Freddy's songs were good even though I was not into that kind of music. Today I listened to a CD a friend gave me,and as a musician myself since the '80's, I finally truly appreciate Freddy's genius. Not only did he have a distinctive voice, but he was a master at interpreting songs. He is in company with master interpreters like Sinatra, and Jagger. These guys "live" the songs they sing, and that is why they have long, and successful careers.

I first saw Freddy at the Plant City Strawberry Festival. I was in 3rd grade and fell in love. I got his autograph and put lipstick on so I could kiss it all over. lolol I don't know what it was about him that bowled a little country girl over. Maybe just the fact that we didn't have, ''that,'' out there. I have loved Freddy ever since! (And have since been married to a Basque and am currently in a relationship with a Guadalarajan. Thinking it all started with Freddy.)

Nice to see the photo I gave Freddy the night of his performance, years ago, in Laugh NV, has been put to good use. I saw it on an uploaded Music Video (I'll get link), and saw it years ago, and again today on your pg 1. Freddy looks great in that photo, so I am glad that I returned the second night of his performance to give him a bunch of the Entertainment Guides for Laugh, which had a full page photo of Freddy on its back cover. I have posted his, Wasted Days and Wasted Nights', Music Video, witch also hosts the same photo at the end of the song. Hope you are doing fine. Hope you put at least one of Freddy's favorite recipes online...I for 1, am still looking fer it, and looking forward to it. Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year 2013..the years are creeping up. Note: Your site will not take the full accurate spelling of Laugh* in, NV, so I had to adjust the spelling of it, in order to insert it. Just add it to your speller, so every one will know where Freddy sang.

Freddy Fender lives in me now. I grew up listening to the "Fred" all my life and as time goes on by and the genre of rock changes, Freddy Fender's music is timeless and way beyond his own time. Whenever I can't concentrate and I need to shut out the world. It's just me, Freddy and a beer, till sense doesn't make sense at all. I don't even need an ipod because his tunes are in my heart and in my fingers.

We have traveled many times to Brownsville, Texas. We saw the water tower many times with Freddy's picture. Today Thursday September 20, 2012 we attempted to find a museum or something about Freddie in San Benito. We stopped a couple of places inquiring if there was any home or museum of Freddy Fender in town. We never got much information, no one seemed to know where anyting was really located. Wish there had been signs indicating where the community center was located. We came back to the condo and looked up information on Freddie Fender. Maybe next year we can try again.

Friends used to call my Dad, Freddy Fender back in the 70s. His name was Alfredo and he resembled Freddy. We went to see him sing at an amusement park. People came up to my Dad and asked for autographs.

Still listening to Freddy,s music most nights, puts me to sleep. His voice was so mellow. Love it! Re purchased most of the cd,s just wore out the others. My sincere best to his family.

A few days ago, I was reminded of the music of Freddy Fender -- his music that I hadn't heard for years and years. Thanks to YouTube, I found some videos of his performances. What a wonderful, wonderful musician! The treasure of his music, as well as his memory, lives on.

Happy Father's Day my sweet loving Dad. You knew how to talk to me--not at me.
You trusted me and believed in me when no one else did.
You loved me unconditionally no question or apologies needed.
You put me first before yourself after you totally trusted in higher power.
You didn't go to church every sunday but you definetely talked the talk and walked the walk.
You didn't pretend to be good by going to church and judge others. You were good...period.
You were unselfish and I didn't have to bow down to you to let you know you were B.O.S.S. BOSS!
You knew how to be a friend and mostly a loving person and father.
It was easy to respect you because you respected me first as a human being and daughter.
I will never forget that gift and will cherish you until I die...
Happy Father's Day, and everyday.
Tu Hija,
Tomasa
