A bunch of us in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia used to sit around at night listening to Freddy's songs. He kept us going in a very remote part of the world. We had our own unofficial Freddy Fender Fan Club. In 1994, two of us finally got to see Freddy with the rest of the Texas Tornados. From all of us Yanks and Brits who were in Saudi Arabia, we thank you for the music.

Freddy Fender was a friend of my uncle and a great musician. My favorite song is "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights". I remember being young in the 70's drinking a bottle of Boones Farm and listening to all Freddy's music. Thank you Freddy for all the great memories.

i would think it would nice if we could start a regional freddy fender appreciation association and have concert events to help raise funds to help the huerta family's heavy expenses and to keep freddy's music alive ,not just in texas but around the world,would'nt that be great! if anyone out there is interested ,how about some input. what a great way to pay tribute to freddie fender,the legend...manny gutierrez sundancemhg@msn.com
