May God bless the family & friends of Freddy and keep you close to him in your time of sorrow. He was an influence in my music, my grandparents play his stuff all the time. Now he sings in a greater place where " Silver Wings" takes on a whole new meaning. I sure the Texas Tornadoes will miss him as well.

My aunt was one of Freddy's biggest fans and i know she will be smiling in heaven, growing up as a little girl i remember my aunt playing his records and just listening to him sing.

I had the honor of taking my aunt to see freddy at the House Of Blues on the sunset strip and just seeing the smile on her face made me happy.

my deepest condolences to the Huerta family and closest friends from the Istre family. I can recall meeting the girl I planned to marry back in January 2003, Lily Menedez, for Mardi Gras in Austin Texas. We danced to " Before The Next Teardrop Falls" and sang it duet style. On July 15, 2003, just for the fun of it we sang "Teardrop" just how we done it the night we met. July 16, 2003 I received a call that she had passed away. I will truly cherish the fond memories I have had listening to the music of Freddy Fender and will treasure all the music that I have collected over the years. Again, my deepest condolences to the family and friends and my prayers will be with you. I will also offer up mass for Freddy and the family.

I am so sorry, Freddy was my first Mexican artist, I just love the Tex/Mex or the old Mexican Music Freddy will be Missed greatly...

He was one of the greatest tejano singers which, I loved the way he sang.He was one of the best singers that I would listen to. Rest In Peace! He was like a lengendary singer to me. God Bless You and your family. May You go to Heaven and Rest in heaven.
