Huge Fan of Freddie Fender. I sing all of his hits when I sing Karaoke at the club's
People love him here in southern Illinois. Got the chance to meet him in person when I
was stationed in Frankfurt Germany. He performed at the NCO club Main
Shopping px complex. Told him that the Cordova family from New Mexico Loves
him. He signed two 8x10 Photo's which I still have. One to All the Cordova's from
New Mexico, and the other to me and my Wife. He will be greatly missed. Peace to
you my Brother..... God Bless You Vangie And Your Familia.

I think I speak for the world when I say we will miss Freddy. I want to tell Fred Garcia and his family I am very sorry for their loss, and to thank them for the gifts they gave my family. I hope to get in touch with you again someday. Love to your family and always know there were never ANY "Wasted Days or Wasted Nights"

May God hold you in his hands. My mother was a fan of Freddie's. I remember listening to him when I was very young. Now at ripe age of 40, I can sit back & think of the words to alot of the older songs my mom listen to..
Again God Bless you all.
He will be missed by many..

Although I am only 41 years old I love to listen to your music because it takes me back to my childhood and I remember my grandparents, my parents, my aunts, my uncles all dancing to your music, those were truely the Good old days. My grand parents are up in heaven and I am sure they are delighted to be able to dance once again to your music. Have fun

We are so broken hearted right now that I, myself can hardly bare to hear my father's Christian CD title "Coming Home". He sings...
"How can I sing a sad song," when I have Jesus in my heart, and when God gives me grace in place of mourning". "I love Jesus, Jesus, Jesus"!
It makes me smile and cry for my father and God at the same time.

I was pleased to see 'Freddie" twice - once at Prim, then Stateline and I must say that he was enjoying the stage having 'smoked' something back of it. But a really human and great show. the last time was at the Orleans casino, I think, and we had front row seats. During the 'rancho grade' song, I did a few Mexican 'He haws' and after the show, he come to the edge of the stage and asked who did that. Being honest, I said that I did and he said that it was among the best, he'd heard. What a great guy and I'm sorry not to have become his friend. See yoiu later, compadre!

An outstanding entertainer. A great singer and songwriter.
He will be missed for years to come.
The DVD, "Texas Tornados - Live From Austin, 1990", is an outstanding concert starring the great Freddy, along with the late, great Doug Sahm, Grammy Award winners Flaco Jimenez and Augie Myers.
The DVD concert highlights Freddy's talents singing, playing the Stratocaster, singing and playing the Blues, doing Rock and Country. It has it all.
Adios, Amigo.
